In Photos: Dwyane Wade and daughter Kaavia hit the golf course to celebrate 4th of July
Dwyane Wade celebrated the 4th of July with his family on the golf course, enjoying the early summer. Wade was joined in the green by his youngest daughter, Kaavia James Union Wade, who has around 1.8 million followers on Instagram.
In an Instagram story, the Miami Heat legend was with some friends and posed inside a golf cart. They were trying to replicate a photo he posted earlier featuring Kaavia with her friends posing inside a golf cart. Wade even bragged that the adults did the pose better than their kids.
"The did it first and then we did it better," Wade wrote.
In addition to golf, Wade and Kaavia also spent some time inside a swimming pool. The five-year-old even rode horses with her sister Zaya Wade.
Dwyane Wade adjusting to raising Kaavia
In an interview with Parents.com last year, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union opened up about raising their daughter Kaavia. She is Union's first child, while Wade already has Zaya with his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches. He only raised Zaya as a girl when she came out as trans at the age of 12.
"This is my first time raising a little girl from this age as Zaya came to us older. I don't know what Kaav's going to choose for herself. But if she does choose a man, I want her to look at that man she chooses and say you have to measure up to my daddy. So, the bar will be set high," Wade said.
Wade has a total of five children, including Zaire and Zaya with her ex-wife Siovaughn Funches. He has a son, Xavier, with Aja Metoyer during her breakup with Union in 2013. Their daughter Kaavia was born in 2018. He's also the legal guardian for his nephew, Dahveon Morris, the son of his sister Deanna.
Dwyane Wade shares Team USA news for the 4th of July
In celebration of the 4th of July, Dwyane Wade shared a post of him representing Team USA in the Olympics. He will have a new role for Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The three-time NBA champion told Today on Wednesday that he'll be an on-air analyst for NBC during its basketball coverage of the Olympics.
"I know I can speak from a player's perspective, but also I can speak about the coaches. I also can speak about the refs. I can also speak about the atmosphere. So I know all parts of the game. I know how the arena's ran, I know the concessions are ran. Like, I know too much. And so how do I take all what I know and make it concise? Make it poignant? And make it exciting?" Wade said.
Wade retired from the national team after the 2008 Olympics. He won two medals in the Olympics – a gold medal in 2008 and a bronze medal in 2004.
