Incoming rookies like Ja'Kobe Walter will be gracing the stage for the 2024 NBA draft. Most of them will be taking this opportunity to dress up and showcase their fashion styles in their first-ever taste of the NBA spotlight.

Walter is no different. In a post by the Baylor Instagram account, the Bears product boasted an all-black shirt with a purple suit along with fancy accessories and Prada shoes.

According to Walter, the pants are tailored to fit him as he matched them with a chain, rings, and a glowing purple suit. His diamond-encrusted chain says the word “WUBBS.”

His style is said to be just a calm approach to the night.

“Nothing crazy. Something calm,” Ja'Kobe Walter said when showing off his outfit.

Walter added shades to his outfit to finish up the look. While he waits for his name to be called in the NBA draft stage, his fit can turn heads alongside other draft hopefuls.

Ja'Kobe Walter draft profile

Ja’Kobe Walter was a five-star recruit in high school, and he committed to Baylor last year. In his freshman year, he averaged 14.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.1 steals in about 32.3 minutes played per game.

Walter is a known shooter, making 34.1% of his three-pointers on 6.3 attempts per game. He moves great off the ball and plays well as a movement shooter. At six-foot-five with a six-foot-10 wingspan, Walter can shoot over defenders with his smooth offensive style.

However, the concern for Walter is his foot speed, which could hold him back against better defenders in the NBA. He will also need to improve in finishing around the rim, an aspect that most rookies struggle with early in their careers.

Ja'Kobe Walter can be seen as a project player for any team, but his potential could give whoever picks him a boost in the guard spot.

Ja'Kobe Walter projects to be picked in the middle of the first round

Ja’Kobe Walter’s projections vary due to the lack of clarity in terms of the level of talent across the draft. However, Walter seemed to be lingering in the middle of the first-round range, according to most mock drafts.

Ja'Kobe Walter is among the guards who boast a similar archetype in this year’s draft. However, what makes him stand out is his contribution to a winning team like Baylor, who went 24-11 in the past season.

Additionally, Walter was Baylor’s leading scorer and third-leading rebounder, although their run ended in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Whichever team picks Walter can expect a spitfire scorer who has great potential for the future when put in the right situation.
