Carmelo Anthony named Team USA GOAT by NBA star
Carmelo Anthony had a lot to do with the success that Team USA achieved during his time. Every chance he got, he made sure that he was a participant and helped the national team with what they needed.
Anthony suited up for the team four times in his career for the Olympics. In that span, he secured three gold medals and a bronze.
Recently, Draymond Green released the latest episode of his podcast, The Draymond Green Show. In the episode, he talked about the GOAT status of Anthony and a few other stars like LeBron James and Kevin Durant.
According to Green, the three All-Star forwards are the GOATs of Team USA when it comes to the Olympics.
"KD and Bron, what they're doing from a statistical standpoint, if they win this medal, you have to ask yourself the question, 'Are they the greatest Olympians from a basketball perspective in history?' The answer to that question is: yes, they are, along with Carmelo Anthony," Green said.
"People tend to forget fast what 'Melo did for Team USA. Bronze medal, gold, gold, and gold. Melo is 1000% in that category along with KD and Bron... They don't even need to close out the gold medal and they're still the greatest Olympic players we've had in our program."
The three players that Green mentioned all played a significant role in building Team USA's status today. While they had a ton of accolades in the NBA, they still dedicated their time to the national team and helped the country take over basketball.
