In Photos: LeBron James drops two new Nike x LeBron 22s colorway for Olympic gold medal game
LeBron James has gotten fans used to him wearing special sneakers whenever he plays a special game. Team USA is trying to win the gold medal against France in the Paris Olympic basketball tournament and the King was dressed for the occasion.
Ahead of tip-off, X (formerly Twitter) account @nicekicks shared a series of pictures of LeBron James' sneakers for the Olympic gold medal game. Fans peeped at two new editions of the shoes, one in gold and another in electric blue.
This isn't the first time LeBron James has shown off his signature shoes in the Olympics. He previously was spotted wearing the Nike LeBron 22 'Team USA', a player-exclusive edition of the shoe.
James has been doing an impressive job with Team USA, trying to lead them to the top of the world again after a disappointing performance in the 2023 FIBA World Cup. James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant led this star-studded squad to the promised land.
The game against France is a challenge, as the hosts are heating up at the right time and look keen to win it all at home this year.
Trae Young credited LeBron James' defense for win over Serbia in Olympic basketball semifinals
After Team USA escaped the Serbia game with a 91-86 result after trailing the European giants for most of the duel, many people heaped praise on LeBron James.
Trae Young, who has been linked with a move to the LA Lakers in recent times, credited James for taking the initiative to guard Nikola Jokic before Team USA turned the game around.
"I know he took the initiative on Jokic, but it's not like I'm saying LeBron didn't kill today. He's a big reason why they came back and won too," said Young.
"If you look at Steph, he had 36, but he also had eight rebounds, he also had nine assists. He did literally everything. ... if Steph didn't have 17 in the first quarter, they would have been down 20-plus," he added.
James recorded his first triple-double in the Olympic Games against Serbia. He needed to put in an extra effort to beat Serbia and take his team to the gold medal game.
The challenge has gotten more difficult against France, but the King has a mission and he doesn't hesitate to go all out despite his age.
