NBA superstar Russell Westbrook and his wife, Nina Westbrook, turned heads at the grand opening of their latest venture, "Little Kitchen Academy," in Los Angeles, a new culinary startup in partnership with Russell Westbrook's "Why Not? Foundation."
The power couple made a striking entrance, coordinating in matching black outfits. Westbrook wore a simple black pant and a full black t-shirt, while Nina donned an all-black top paired with pants.
The "Little Kitchen Academy" is an initiative aimed at empowering more than 10,000 underserved children through culinary education and mentorship. The Westbrooks have time and again served the community, and this initiative continues their benevolent work.
Russell Westbrook also expressed his feelings about this initiative in an interview with StreetInsider.
"Nina and I take our kids to Little Kitchen Academy, and we have seen the incredible impact these classes have on children and teens. I am committed to providing access to LKA classes to kids who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate," Westbrook said.
"I'm excited to partner with their team to launch the Changing Lives from Scratch Fund because every child deserves the opportunity to develop practical life skills and learn healthy eating habits.
"Our goal is to go beyond the traditional classroom and empower children with the essential skills to create their own meals, increase their confidence, and inspire a lifelong love of healthy cooking, setting kids up for success in the kitchen and beyond," he added.
A post shared by the official "Little Kitchen Academy" page thanked the Westbrook Foundation for their continuous support.
Russell Westbrook's heartfelt farewell tribute touches Nina Westbrook
Following rumors of Nikola Jokic wanting to join forces with Russell Westbrook, the LA Clippers officially announced their trade, sending Westbrook to the Utah Jazz and eventually being signed by the Denver Nuggets
After a short time with the LA Clippers, Russell Westbrook bids farewell with an emotional message.
"Thank you to Mr. Ballmer and the entire Clipper Organization for the opportunity.”... “Clipper Nation, thank you! I had a lot of fun with you all, playing in the city I love in front of my family and friends. To all of my teammates, I thank y’all for embracing me and supporting me the past two years,” he wrote in the caption.
"To ALL of MY fans! You guys don't know how much your support means to me. Y'all keep me motivated and energized. I've got the most loyal and amazing fans in sports....Looking forward to seeing y'all next season! The Brodie"
Nina Westbrook responded to the heartfelt message with a simple white heart emoji.
After a standout career as a major NBA star, Westbrook made significant sacrifices to join the Clippers in pursuit of a championship. Notably, he accepted a two-year contract worth a modest $7.8 million.
However, the former MVP hasn't had the best of him in the past two seasons. The nine-time All-Star's performance has significantly dropped, with his lowest scoring average ever of 11.1 points per game last season.
