In Photos: Trae Young unveils custom icy blue Cybertruck, shares a string of pictures and gives a tour inside and out
NBA star and car enthusiast Trae Young showed off the latest addition to his collection on Friday. The Atlanta Hawks guard shared photos of his new Tesla Cybertruck, one of the most popular and sought after cars on the market at the moment.
It remains unclear which version of the Cybertruck Young went for, but the All-Star has customized the car to his liking with a unique shade of blue. In a recent post on his X account, Young can be seen standing alongside the flashy new vehicle, referring to it as the "Snowmobile." He captioned the post:
"Sometimes you gotta pop out. ❄️ #Snowmobile"
The lowest priced model of the car starts at $79,990 and can go up to $99,990 for the high-end version. Since the car has been tailored for Young, it likely cost somewhere in excess of $100,000.
Check out some of the photos of the new ride below:
This is not the first time the 25-year-old has spent big on an automobile. Young is an avid collector and has a Lamborghini Aventador McLaren 720 S in his garage to accompany his new Cybertruck. After being drafted by the Dallas Mavericks as the fifth overall pick in the 2018 draft (he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks shortly after as part of a deal for Luka Doncic), the first car he purchased was an Audi R8 V10.
The new Tesla Cybertruck would be a massive investment for most individuals but Young remains one of the higher-paid guards in the league. After success in his early years with the Atlanta Hawks, he signed a lucrative five-year $215 million extension in 2021 that will see him contracted to the team through the 2026/27 season.
Per Spotrac, he earned over $40 million this season and that figure will jump to over $43 million for the 2024/25 season and over $45 million for the 2025/25 season.
Trae Young shows off new look to his fans on social media
Young is relatively active on social media and has over 5.1 million followers on Instagram and 1.7 million followers on X.
The three-time All-Star is known for his work ethic and regularly shares videos of his intese workouts with the title "Another Day another opportunity."
Last week, however, Young took some time to share his new look on an IG story. The Hawks guard can been seen flexing his bicep into the mirror with a full beard that he has likely been working on for a few weeks.
