Before the 2024 Paris Olympics started, there was a great deal of pressure on A'ja Wilson to be at her best, and the 28-year-old did not disappoint. A string of dominant displays from Wilson guided the USA women's national team to an eighth consecutive gold.
On Monday, the Team USA center shared memories from the tournament on her Instagram account. Wilson posted photos of herself enjoying the joyous occasion alongside her teammates and family.
"The Golden Dynasty," she wrote in the caption.
Wilson continues to pad up her resume after adding a second Olympic gold medal. The WNBA star was named the league MVP in 2020 and 2022 and has won two championships with the Las Vegas Aces (2022 and 2023). She was named the Rookie of the Year in 2018 and is a two-time Defensive Player of the Year.
It was a historic year for USA basketball at the Olympics. The men's and women's teams both won gold, and the women's team extended their 61-game unbeaten streak to an Olympic record eight consecutive gold medals. The women's squad hopes to build on this great feat at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

It was hard to deny Wilson the Olympic MVP (by FIBA) prize after a stellar performance. A series of strong outings reminded basketball fans around the globe why she is considered one of the greatest women's players to step foot on the court.
Wilson led Team USA in points (112), rebounds (61), blocks (16) and minutes (164). She ranked third at the competition in points with 18.7 per game and second in rebounds with 10.2 per game.
With the USA trailing against France in the Olympic finals, Wilson was instrumental in leading a memorable second-half comeback. She finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks to guide her nation to gold.
