In Pictures: Steph Curry spotted at Red Sox vs Mets game in New York

Fresh off signing a historic one-year, $62.6 million contract extension, Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Steph Curry was spotted taking in some baseball. The four-time NBA champion unexpectedly attended Monday's Boston Red Sox vs New York Mets game at Citi Field.

The Mets posted a picture on X/Twitter of Curry and entrepreneur Max Siegelman at the contest. The two-time MVP was all smiles, with the account referring to him as a "Mets game enjoyer."

In another X post shared by the MLB, Curry can be seen smiling and laughing as he watched New York secure a 4-1 home victory.

When put on the jumbotron, Curry acknowledged the crowd of Mets fans, giving a peace symbol before doing his signature "Night, Night" celebration.

During the broadcast, the game's commentators, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling, quipped about Curry's shooting skills and whether they would play HORSE against him. Afterward, they raved about how the 10-time All-Star "revolutionized" basketball.

"Never seen anybody shoot like him and drive. Everybody talks about his shooting, his drives are incredible," Hernandez said.
"Handles, they call it," Darling added.

However, Curry wasn't the only high-profile NBA star in attendance. New York Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony was also at Citi Field to support the Mets, linking up with Curry at the contest.

Steph Curry preparing to give "complete focus to basketball" as offseason winds down

While Steph Curry seemingly enjoyed an evening of leisure at Citi Field on Monday, he will soon be gearing up for his 16th NBA season.

After signing his extension on Thursday, which locks him under contract until the end of the 2026-27 season, Curry spoke with The Athletic about his mindset. He highlighted his desire to continue leading Golden State into the twilight of his career.

"It’s not different from my perspective," Curry said. "You have an appreciation for the position and the opportunity and the support from people who’ve been with you on the journey. I’ve always said I wanted to play for one team my whole career. So, it’s good to get [the extension] question out of the way and give complete focus to basketball and to the season."

Curry added that he still expects the Warriors to be competitive this upcoming season.

"It’s still about winning and taking the steps necessary to give ourselves a chance," Curry said. "The standard hasn’t changed. The expectation hasn’t changed."

Golden State narrowly missed the playoffs this past season, finishing 10th (46-36) in the Western Conference. However, the franchise has undergone a significant roster overhaul this offseason.

The Warriors replaced accomplished veterans Klay Thompson and Chris Paul with role players Buddy Hield, De'Anthony Melton and Kyle Anderson. It remains to be seen if their moves will be enough to elevate them back into the West playoff picture.
