Ayesha Curry is much more than just the wife of Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry — she is also a mother, lifestyle blogger and successful entrepreneur. She founded and serves as the CEO of Sweet July, a lifestyle brand encompassing a production company, a skincare line and even a cafe.
Sweet July debuted in 2019 with a lifestyle magazine under the same name. By 2021, Ayesha opened the brand's flagship store and cafe in Oakland, which she lovingly calls her “love letter to Oakland.” Recently, the brand expanded by opening a new cafe in Santa Monica, located inside the Regent Santa Monica Beach Hotel (formerly Loews).
The cafe showcases a sleek, modern, and rustic aesthetic, with a dominant brown color scheme. See a sneak peek into the Santa Monica branch of Ayesha Curry’s cafe below.
Announcing the opening of the new Santa Monica branch earlier this week, Ayesha shared her excitement:
“God is good. @sweetjuly cafe Santa Monica is now open at the @regentsantamonica !!! Come see us for the most insanely delicious bread puddings and lattes among other things.”
Since its inception, Sweet July has grown to include a production company, Sweet July Productions, a publishing imprint called Sweet July Books and an online platform at sweetjuly.com.
The story behind Ayesha Curry’s Sweet July brand
In a post on Sweet July’s website, Ayesha Curry reflected on the inspiration behind the brand, sharing how the Oakland flagship cafe came to be during a joyful period in her life.
“Sweet July came about as a feeling of happiness for me, a time when all the things that are good in my life happened,” she was quoted as saying.
The Oakland store features Sweet July products, including home goods, lifestyle items, a selection of Ayesha's favorite books and a curated collection of emerging lifestyle brands, making it a space that feels like an extension of her personal style.
The cafe is also proud to be Black-owned and showcases a “Black Icon wall” with portraits by local artist Michael J Lopez.
“My hope is to encourage everyone to find their own version of Sweet July. It’s a feeling, a thought, a phrase, and I hope it will become a movement.”
In July 2023, she introduced her first skincare line, Sweet July Skin, inspired by her Jamaican heritage.
"Throughout my life, I've learned a lot about skincare and the natural benefits derived from superfoods like papaya and guava from my mother and grandmother. … I'm excited to share a little bit of my Jamaican culture with everyone through these products," she said.
Ayesha Curry's net worth is estimated at $50 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
