Bronny James will play in the South Bay Lakers' NBA G League matchup against the Greensboro Swarm on Thursday. He has traveled with the team to Orlando for the G League Winter Showcase, which runs from Dec. 19-22.

The Lakers guard was last in action during South Bay’s 102-91 loss to the Valley Suns on Friday. Bronny played 26 minutes, marking his third consecutive game with at least 15 points. However, he struggled with efficiency, shooting 6 of 20 from the field, including 2 of 6 from beyond the arc.

Bronny James' standout performance came on Dec. 12 during a 106-100 loss to the Valley Suns, where he erupted for 30 points. The young guard shot an impressive 13 of 22 from the field, including 3 of 9 from 3-point range, while also contributing three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

After a slow start to his professional career, Bronny is gradually finding his rhythm. His recent performances indicate steady progress, showcasing his potential and growth as a player. Over the last three games, the No. 55 pick in the 2024 draft is averaging 20.7 points on 43.1% shooting, signaling that he is on the right trajectory with the South Bay Lakers.

JJ Redick on Bronny James

Lakers coach JJ Redick was recently asked about Bronny James' development and the former NBA sharpshooter had high praise for the young guard, emphasizing several aspects of his game that have stood out.

"I think where I've seen (his progress) on court in the G League, I think some decision-making with the basketball, being on ball and making good decisions both as a scorer and as a playmaker," JJ Redick said, as quoted by ESPN. "Continuing to see the flashes defensively of what we're really excited about."

Meanwhile, the South Bay Lakers vs. Greensboro Swarm game will take place Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The game will tip off 12 p.m. EST (9 a.m. PT). Hoops fans can watch Bronny James in action live on ESPNU.
