Is Bronny James playing tonight against the Boston Celtics? Latest on Lakers guard's status for Summer League game (July 15)
Bronny James is available to play on Monday against the Boston Celtics. The Lakers drafted LeBron James' son in the second round of the 2024 NBA draft. However, they surprised fans when they retained him on the main roster instead of trying to send him to the South Bay Lakers in the G-League.
Bronny James wasn't the best prospect in the 2024 NBA draft class; he had below-average stats and many doubted his chances of getting drafted. In the end, he did get drafted but since then, his performance has not justified his selection.
Bronny has shown signs of struggle not only in the Vegas League but in the California Classic as well. In the last game against the Houston Rockets, he scored eight points, going 3-14 from the field.
To make things worse, he went 0-8 from the three-point line and the fans mercilessly trolled him on social media. During his time with the USC Trojans, Bronny was a mid-tier player. Fans had expected him to get better upon entering the NBA but things haven't changed so far.
What happened to Bronny James?
Bronny James has been a healthy athlete ever since his recovery from the life-threatening cardiac incident last year. The Lakers rookie suffered a trace of swelling in his left knee during the California Classic and had to sit out the game against the Warriors.
Other than the minor knee swelling, Bronny has been fit. Moreover, he has not shown any signs of discomfort in cardio-heavy activities.
