Is Kevin Durant playing against the LA Clippers? Latest injury update on Suns' star ahead of matchup (9th April 2023)
Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns(45-36) have clinched the fourth seed in the Western Conference standings as they finish off their season in the ball game against the LA Clippers(43-38).
For the matchup, the Suns will look to sit their main players as Kevin Durant (ankle) is out along with Devin Booker (rest), Chris Paul (ankle), Deandre Ayton (rest), Bismack Biyombo (knee) and Cameron Payne (back) are all out while T.J. Warren (illness) is listed as doubtful in the injury report.
With Kawhi Leonard and Russell Westbrook playing as opposed to Kevin Durant and Devin Booker being available to suit up for the matchup, it will be interesting to see if the Phoenix Suns somehow manage to win this one.
Playoff scenario for Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns
With the fourth seed secured, Durant and the Suns will face the fifth seed in the first round of the playoffs, depending on how the matchups between the LA Clippers, the Golden State Warriors and the New Orleans Pelicans will pan out.
If the Clippers win later against the Suns, then they will secure the fifth seed. However, if they lose that ball game and the Warriors win against the Trail Blazers, then they move lower in the standings as the sixth seed.
Things will get even more interesting in the scenario if the Pelicans secure a win against the Timberwolves along with victories courtesy of the Suns, Trail Blazers, and Lakers.
