Is Kevin Durant playing tonight against the Thunder? Latest update on Phoenix star ahead of matchup (April 2, 2023)
12-time All-Star Kevin Durant finally returned to the court last Wednesday in a home victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Durant missed 10 games before that matchup as he sustained a sprained ankle injury during warmups on March 8.
During his return to action, Durant dropped 16 points on 27.8% shooting, eight rebounds, and four assists. Kevin Durant looked a bit rusty in his home debut as he missed some of the shots that he would normally make.
Later tonight, the OKC Thunder (38-40) will host the Phoenix Suns (42-35) at the Paycom Center. Kevin Durant will be available tonight for a head-to-head matchup against his former team as the Suns look to secure enough wins with just five games remaining in the season.
Kevin Durant during the regular season
Kevin Durant played the first half of the regular season for the Brooklyn Nets, but after Kyrie Irving's move to the Dallas Mavericks, Durant requested a trade to the Phoenix Suns.
Durant has only played five games for the Suns and is fresh off an impressive performance in a 100-93 win over the Denver Nuggets last Friday. After a subpar performance on his return against the Timberwolves, Durant bounced back with 30 points on 73.3% shooting as he looked like his usual All-Star self.
As the regular season is in its final stretch, Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns look to have a deep playoff run with championship aspirations in a tightly contested Western Conference.
