Is LeBron James playing tonight against the Boston Celtics? | December 13th, 2022 | 2022-23 NBA Season

LeBron James and the LA Lakers will face the Boston Celtics tonight at the Crypto.com arena.

James was labeled day-to-day with ankle and adductor issues, and missed five games early in November with an issue pertaining to the latter. James made his return on Nov. 25, and has since averaged 27.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists.

As per Brad Rowland on the "Locked On" podcast, LeBron James is probable for the game.

The Celtics will face the Lakers in back-to-back matchups in LA after going down against the LA Clippers yesterday. Boston is now on a two-game losing streak, and both of the losses have come in blowout fashion, with the Warriors defeating the C's 123-107 and the Clippers 113-93.

Of their seven losses, the loss against LAC was their worst loss (by point differential) and the loss against the Dubs was their third-worst of the season.

LeBron James and company, however, have just snapped their three-game skid with a close win over Detroit on Sunday. LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined for 69 points in the game, scoring 35 and 34, respectively.

Boston will look to snap their two-game losing streak as they face another LA team for the second night in a row. Robert Williams III will remain out as he recovers from his surgery and Al Horford will return on Friday, according to Jared Weiss of The Athletic.

Weiss also reported that Williams seems to be "moving well" after he was seen warming up before their game last night.

Besides putting James as probable, according to CBS Sports, Anthony Davis' status will be made available as we move closer to tip off. Wenyen Gabriel was ruled out last week and is likely to remain out, while Juan Tocano-Anderson will also miss tonight's game.

After dropping three in a row against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers, the Lakers snatched a win from Detroit with Austin Reaves hitting a game-winning shot with 12 seconds to go in the final quarter.

LAL's bench has looked better, with Davis primarily driving the offense on his own in the last month or so. Coming off the bench, Westbrook has seen Sixth Man of the Year talks.

The matchups to look out for tonight include LeBron James/Jayson Tatum and Anthony Davis/Blake Griffin. Tipoff will be at 10:00 PM ET.
