Is Steph Curry playing tonight against Minnesota Timberwolves? Latest injury update for 4x NBA champion (Dec.6)

There is a palpable buzz around curry/news" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-is-sponsored="false">Steph Curry’s availability on Friday when the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves lock horns at Chase Center for a back-to-back game. It looks like the two-time MVP will return to the lineup after sitting out against the Houston Rockets due to a 'nagging' knee injury.

Steph Curry missed his second game in the past four Warriors games due to bilateral knee injury management. Curry sat out the Nov. 27 home loss against the Thunder due to knee pain. He played 34 minutes in the loss at Denver on Tuesday, finishing with 24 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds. He also sat out against the Rockets on Thursday.

The Warriors' coach Steve Kerr said that Curry is dealing with tendinitis in both knees and is playing through pain. The training staff is working closely with him to manage the injury.

"He’s in pain we can't play him through this stretch every game and expect him to get through, Kerr said as per abc7news. “I thought he looked really good in Denver. To me he looked more active, more agile, but we have to help him get through the woods on this one.”

Kerr also hinted that Curry could return to the lineup on Friday.

It’s more than just a typical early December matchup as it could be a turning point for two teams seeking stability and confidence in the league. Curry's presence during this stretch will be crucial.

Steph Curry’s stats vs Timberwolves

Steph Curry’s record against the Timberwolves is nothing short of dominant. The Warriors superstar has squared off against Western Conference rivals 41 times, going 30-11, averaging 26.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 7.1 assists.

His career-high against the Timberwolves was 46 points, which came almost 10 years ago in 2015 when the Warriors won 129-116.

However, the Warriors' recent record against the Timberwolves isn't the most impressive, as they haven't won since February 26, 2023. Last season, they lost all three games against Minnesota despite Curry averaging a career-best 34.5 points per game.

What to expect Warriors vs Timberwolves

The Warriors have oscillated between brilliance and mediocrity this season, highlighted by their recent five-game losing streak, which was snapped on Thursday against the Rockets.

A win on Friday could be crucial in quelling the discontent. However, it doesn't get easier against the new-look Timberwolves who come in on a 3-game winning streak, including two dominant wins against the Lakers (109-80) and the Clippers (108-80).
