Is Steph Curry playing tonight against the Washington Wizards? | February 13th, 2023 | 2022-23 NBA Season

The Golden State Warriors have been without Steph Curry for three games now, and that streak will continue. Per the latest injury report, the two-time MVP is listed as out for the team's matchup against the Washington Wizards on Monday night.

Being without Curry leaves a huge void, as he was the focal point of the Warriors' offense. While they won their first game without him in this stretch, they've recently suffered back-to-back losses to the Portland Trail Blazers and LA Lakers.

Before getting injured, Steph Curry was playing at an elite level. In 38 games this season, he is averaging 29.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.4 assists.

As of now, there is no timetable for when he will make his return to the lineup. Recent reports have cited that he will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break.

Should the health of Steph Curry be a cause for concern for the Golden State Warriors?

With Steph Curry sidelined for another extended period this year, one has to wonder if the Golden State Warriors should start to be concerned. If he can't stay on the floor, it greatly lessens their chances of competing for a championship.

Earlier in the year, Curry missed 11 games because of a shoulder injury. He is currently out with a lower body injury. It appears that the wear and tear of a long career might be catching up to the nine-time All-Star.

Fresh off winning a title last season, the Golden State Warriors want to be in the fold again this year. Even with teams like the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns stacking up at the trade deadline, many believe the Western Conference to be wide open this season. As the group with the most experience, the Warriros have a slight advantage over the competition.

Sitting in ninth place in the standings, the Warriors got some work to do before the playoffs get here. However, being without Curry for so long will hurt their ability to climb up a few spots. Seeing that countless teams in the West got better, it's going to be a battle every night.

Until Curry can join his team on the court, Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson are two players who will have to step up. If they can play at a high level, the Warriors can compete with just about anyone.

If Golden State wants any shot at defending their title this year, they need Steph Curry back on the floor and healthy as soon as possible.
