"It was kind of disrespectful" - Paul George dubs Anthony Edwards 'immature' for Michael Jordan era remarks

Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George is the most recent personality to give his thoughts on Anthony Edwards' comments regarding the talent during Michael Jordan's era. Edwards claimed the only skilled player during MJ's time was the Chicago Bulls legend and many took offense to his comments.

On "Podcast P with Paul George," the forward thought the Minnesota Timberwolves star was "immature" with his comments.

"I thought it was kinda disrespectful for the game. I thought it was a very immature comment," George said. "Obviously, Anthony Edwards is super talented, and he's a huge talent going forward. But just how much the game has grown, you gotta pay dues to those dudes that did it before us."

George talked about Edwards' comments at the 28:40 mark:

George assumed that Edwards meant well with his comments but wasn't sure what the Wolves star was trying to convey.

Edwards received backlash from past players like Magic Johnson. So far, he hasn't addressed what he meant with his comments on Jordan's era.

Paul George's dad thinks the Edwards-Jordan comparison got into the star's head

Since getting drafted into the league in 2020, Anthony Edwards has been compared to Michael Jordan. Because of how he plays the game, his attitude on the court and his personality off the court, fans see a bit of MJ in the young star. However, Paul George's dad thinks the comparison got into the Wolves star's head, which led him to make such comments.

After the Sixers star shared his thoughts on Ant's recent comments, his father also gave his thoughts on it.

"I have been hearing on sports channels, a lot of people are starting to say he’s another Jordan, so maybe that got in his head and he want to spit out something like that. He really got to do his homework," George Sr. said on Podcast P.

As someone who lived during the era of Jordan, George's father shared his first-person experience.

"In my eyes, Magic, Bird, Dr. J, and there’s a few of them that I can’t really think of right now, but I think Jordan was a little bit top of them, but he wasn’t away from them."

George Sr. talked about it at the 32:12 mark:
