"Everyone knows it's my celebration" - Chelsea midfielder says he started “Ice Cold” celebration

Chelsea and England midfielder Cole Palmer said the 'ice cold' celebration belongs to him amid questions over its origin.

Palmer first performed the celebration after scoring in Chelsea's 3-2 win over Luton Town. It has since become his signature move. Players from other sports, including the Atlanta Hawks' Trae Young, have also celebrated in a similar fashion.

Palmer, who initially credited former Manchester City academy team-mate Morgan Rogers for the celebration, told talkSPORT, that the 'ice cold' is his trademark.

"Everyone knows it's my celebration. He (Rogers) might have done, but everybody knows is my celebration," Palmer said.
"The two young lads who signed for Chelsea have done it [Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez]... They're not taking it, they're just joining in," Palmer clarified.

It's unclear who did it first, but Palmer has been in the elite for about two seasons, first failing to make an impression with Manchester City and then exploding with Chelsea this past season.

Palmer notched up 20 goals and 15 assists for the Blues, and hit fans with a bunch of ice cold celebrations in the process.

Players like Trae Young also do a version of the ice cold celebration

Besides Cole Palmer, other athletes have performed versions of the "ice cold" celebration. Notably, Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young has frequently been seen executing the "ice cold" gesture after sinking clutch baskets in the NBA.

Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers is one of the few professional athletes who embrace the "ice cold" celebration. Rogers has been spotted pulling off the "ice cold" gesture after scoring a goal.

The "ice cold" celebration features players rubbing their arms and puffing out their cheeks, as if they’re feeling the chill of being "ice cold."
