"It’s rare that I’m going to sacrifice & miss a LeBron game" - Skip Bayless acknowledges prioritizing NBA games over personal life with wife
Veteran sports journalist Skip Bayless recently said he considers his work above everything else most of the time, including his personal life with his wife.
The former host of FS1's Undisputed made this revelation in his recent appearance on The Pat Bev Podcast with Rone. In the episode uploaded on YouTube on Oct. 17, he highlighted how he has made a commitment to his work and does not see it changing anytime soon.
The now-72-year-old Bayless said:
"[I told my wife, Ernestine] if this this relationship ever lifts off and goes any place you're going to have to know from day one that you'll be second in my life to my work. It's because it's not work to me. It's my passion. It's my life."
He also said he rarely misses a game in favor of family activities:
"It's rare and you have to be a really close friend of mine that I'm going to sacrifice to go and miss a LeBron game so that I can go to your event..."

Bayless, however, made it clear that such a setup has worked well for him and his wife, who he said has been very understanding of everything.
The Vanderbilt University alumnus became well known for his work on the ESPN2 show First Take with Stephen A. Smith before he left in June 2016. He then anchored Skip and Shannon: Undisputed with former football star Shannon Sharpe, which lasted for eight years until he exited back in August.
Skip Bayless reportedly in the process of creating a new debate show online
Since leaving FS1's Undisputed, not much has been heard from Skip Bayless save from his occasional posts on X (formerly Twitter) and weekly shows online. He, however, is reportedly in the process of coming up with a new debate show which is set to air on his YouTube channel.
As per The Washington Post, the veteran sports journalist is making a return to the debate format which made him famous.
The report said:
"[Bayless] wants to create a digital network for a YouTube channel, He's already got his weekly solo show, but he is planning to add an interview show and a debate show. He said he's considering five or six different debate partners, though he declined to name names."
While a debate partner for Skip Bayless remains to be determined, among those names being reportedly floated are Lil Wayne, a good friend of his, as well as former NFL star Robert Griffin III.
