NBA analyst believes Nets and Warriors will face off in finals after beating Bucks and Clippers in conference finals
The NBA season is finally here, and it's an exciting time for fans. Three title contenders will be in action Tuesday as the Boston Celtics host the Brooklyn Nets and the Golden State Warriors play LeBron James' LA Lakers.
Heading into the year, there are always thoughts about who will be the next champion. Analyst Chris Broussard broke down some of the top teams, giving his thoughts on which one is going to win it all.
Some are expecting the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, clippers" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-is-sponsored="false">LA Clippers and Denver Nuggets to win the title this season.
Broussard said the Nets will defeat the Bucks, the Warriors will defeat the Clippers, and then the Warriors will defeat Brooklyn in the NBA Finals.
"Redemption time for KD! Redemption time for Ben Simmons! ... Redemption for Draymond & Jordan Poole!" Broussard said.
Bucks and Nets' strengths and weaknesses
When thinking about the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets, the first thing that comes to mind is that they have arguably the NBA's two best players. With antetokounmpo" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-is-sponsored="false">Giannis Antetokounmpo on the Bucks and Kevin Durant on the Nets, both teams can beat anybody.
Both of their strengths will come on offense, but Milwaukee also plays a high level of defense. The weakness for the Bucks would likely be their lack of a ball handler to run their second unit who can get buckets for them.
If Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant can continue to be the two best players in the world and some of the other guys step up, one of them could win it all.
Clippers and Warriors strengths and weaknesses
The LA Clippers and the Golden State Warriors both have a similar feel to their team as the Bucks and Nets. Both have superstars who can take over games at any moment in the playoffs. Having guys who can score 30-plus points per night in the playoffs is typically going to be one of the last teams standing. That's contingent on other players stepping up and making plays.
With Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the Clippers are going to again be one of the best teams just as they were two seasons ago when they both played. Everybody is expecting them to be a team that potentially wins the Western Conference this year, so expect a big year out of those two.
The Warriors are fresh off an NBA title, and many believe that they have an opportunity to do so once again this season. All they have to do is continue playing at a high level and backing Stephen Curry. The one thing to watch out for with them is that they are getting older, so their role players may have to step up this season.
