"IYKYK": Kevin Garnett refers to hilarious Tupac film as Kevin Durant puts on a clinic on his return

While fans of the Team USA men's basketball team are certainly hyped for the return of Kevin Durant, the same cannot be said for their opponents. Durant finally suited up for Team USA, and Serbia was the first team to experience the kind of damage that KD could do.

Durant is already a three-time Olympic gold medalist and the MVP of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics men's basketball. As such, it is safe to think that Serbia was not thrilled that he suited up against them.

NBA great Kevin Garnett tried to sum up how Serbia felt by reposting a clip on X (formerly known as Twitter) from the 1994 film 'Above the Rim' which starred Tupac Shakur. Garnett also added a simple phrase to his post which praises KD.

"IYKYK @KDTrey5 shep!!!" Garnett wrote.

Kevin Durant missed all five of Team USA's pre-Olympic exhibition games due to a calf strain. Still, head coach Steve Kerr was confident that Durant would return at the right time.

KD was not in the starting lineup against Serbia. Kerr went with Steph Curry, LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker and Jrue Holiday.

KD came off the bench, and in 17 minutes of playing time, he erupted with 23 points. He was also efficient in getting buckets as he went on an 8-for-9 shooting clip from the field, which included a perfect 5-for-5 from downtown. Additionally, he made both of his free throw attempts.

His contributions allowed Team USA to demolish the Serbians on the way to a 26-point victory (110-84).

Kevin Durant led Team USA to a near-perfect run at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

The 2020 Team USA men's basketball roster probably had the least superstar-caliber talent. Despite that, they secured the gold medal, largely thanks to Kevin Durant.

Their run at the Tokyo Olympics did not start off great, as they lost their first game to France. However, they bounced back to beat Iran, Czech Republic, Spain and Australia to secure a spot in the final.

In order to bring home the gold medal, they once again had to face the French squad that beat them earlier in the tournament. This time around, Team USA defeated their opponents 87-82 behind 29 points from KD.

Kevin Durant averaged 20.7 points per game, which was the sixth-best in the tournament. He scored the third most points with 124, trailing only Slovenia's Luka Doncic (143) and Australia's Patty Mills (140).
