Ja Morant's baby mama KK Dixon loves daughter Kaari's style ft. LeBron James' jersey: "Fashion queen who dresses herself"
Ja Morant's daughter Kaari was seen rocking a LeBron James jersey in an Instagram post by her mother, KK Dixon. Morant and Dixon previously dated from 2018 until their reported split in January 2023. They have shared custody of Kaari, who was born in August 2019.
In a post on her Instagram stories, Dixon shared a reel of Kaari wearing a LeBron James' No. 23 LA Lakers jersey. It was a proud moment for Dixon, who claimed that it was her daughter who chose what to wear that day.
"We love a fashion queen who dresses herself," Dixon wrote.
Kaari Morant must be a fan of LeBron James for her to choose his LA Lakers jersey. James and the Lakers faced off against her father's team, the Memphis Grizzlies, in the first round of the 2023 NBA playoffs. Ja Morant and the Grizzlies suffered a huge upset, losing the series in six games despite being the No. 2 seed.
Ja Morant's daughter helped him realize he needed help
Ja Morant had a rough stretch over the past two years as they were full of controversy and injury. He even checked himself into a facility to get help for dealing with pressure after getting caught handling a gun inside a Denver nightclub.
Speaking to Jalen Rose in an interview for ESPN in March last year, Morant opened up about how his daughter helped him realize that he needed help:
"I made a terrible mistake being inside a club and went live. I put myself in a bad position. And also my daughter, there's times where she even tell me if she's had a bad day and I felt like if she can tell me that then I can be able to go and talk to somebody as well."
Despite the sincerity of Morant's answer about getting help, he was caught flashing a gun in the offseason. He was subsequently suspended for 25 games and served it to start the 2023-24 season.
Morant returned on Dec. 19 and helped the Memphis Grizzlies win in one of his best games ever. He finished with 34 points, six rebounds and eight assists in the 115-113 comeback victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. He hit the game-winning basket at the buzzer.
However, his season ended prematurely after nine games when he suffered a shoulder injury. He underwent surgery and the Grizzlies had one of the worst records in the league.
The 25-year-old star is expected to report to the Grizzlies for media day and training camp on Monday.
