Ja Morant and KK Dixon welcomed their daughter, Kaari, in August 2019, two months after Morant was drafted second overall by the Memphis Grizzlies.
The two-time NBA All-Star met Dixon while they attended Murray State University in Kentucky and started dating in 2017. They made their relationship official in 2018 before splitting in January 2023.
While Morant and Dixon share joint custody of Kaari, she lives with her mom. They also co-manage an Instagram account dedicated to their daughter which features various moments of her childhood.
Nike releases Ja Morant's second signature sneakers
The first colorway of Ja Morant's second signature sneakers, the Ja 2 "Induction", was released on Thursday and is available on SNKRS and other select markets. The colorway honors Murray State University, his alma mater that helped him become one of the league's most electric players.
More colorways of the Ja 2 sneakers will be released in the coming weeks. The Ja 2 "Purple Sky" colorway, inspired by his mesmerizing flow across the court, is set to release next on October 8. Other colorways include “Foundation”, “Nightmare”, “Tree Topper”, and “In the Woods”.
The Ja 2 kicks come roughly a year and a half after the launch of the Ja 1 and are reported to emphasize comfort and stability.
"From the Ja 1 to the Ja 2, the core things remain the same. The work ethic doesn’t change," Morant said according to Nike's Newsroom. "It's about comfort, more bounce and bringing my fans into some different storytelling they may not know. We tell those stories through the colorways of my shoe."
After suspensions and injuries held him back in the previous seasons, Ja Morant is set to return to the NBA court next month in his latest signature kicks.
