Ja Morant's sister Niya Morant drops 2-word reaction to Coach Prime's daughter's 21st birthday snaps
Memphis Grizzlies All-Star guard Ja Morant's younger sister Niya Morant was among those who greeted 'Coach Prime' Deion Sanders' daughter Shelomi Sanders as she posted photos on Instagram on her 21st birthday. Shelomi Sanders, who plays collegiate basketball at Alabama A&M, recently celebrated her birthday and shared a carousel of photos captioning it:
"21 essentials"
Niya (Teniya) Morant had a two-word reaction to her post, writing in the comments section:
"Fine shii 😍😍😍😍"
Shelomi is the youngest of three children of NFL legend and Buffaloes head coach Sanders and his second wife Pilar Biggers-Sanders. Her two older siblings are brothers Shilo, 24, and Shedeur, 22. Like Shelomi, Niya Morant plays collegiate basketball, with the Mississippi Valley State.
Niya Morant has her brother Ja Morant's back
Ja Morant has had a roller-coaster ride in his six years in the NBA so far. His sister has been a constant for him in the journey, always having his back. Morant showed her support when she called out the Memphis Grizzlies star's crticis after his return to action following a lengthy league-imposed suspension last year over off-court issues.
Niya Morant made a video, which sports news website Marca shared, where she voiced her opinion about the criticism that was being directed towards her brother.
"That's why I love that y'all talk so much like I love that y'all came over and y'all would talk so much to me," Niya Morant said. "I loved it so I could come here today on this day and tell y'all that he's him... It's 12 time baby, nothing else 12 time ni***..... I waited on this day for this long, I waited just so I could come over here and tell y'all... that he's him, he's him."
Unfortunately for Morant, his return last season lasted only nine games as he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury during practice.
Morant is having a solid campaign so far in the ongoing NBA season, averaging 22 points, 8.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 steals in the 16 games he has played in. More importantly, his performances have helped the Grizzlies to a second-best Western Conference record of 18-9.
