Ja Morant Stats Tonight: How did the Grizzlies star fare against Kevin Durant and the Suns (Feb. 11)

On Tuesday, Ja Morant was off to a quick start against the Phoenix Suns at Footprint Center. The mercurial guard propped up 12 points on 4-of-10 field shooting, five rebounds, five assists and a steal. Morant was yet to bank a 3-pointer after his 0-of-2 from the deep. He did prove effective from the free throw line making all four of his shots from the charity stripe.

Ja Morant's dozen points and Jaren Jackson Jr's 13 points saw the Grizzlies carve a 68-56 lead at the half. For the Suns, Kevin Durant led the way with 19 points. The Grizzlies are coming off a loss to the OKC Thunder. He ended with 26 points, seven rebounds, six assists and a steal as Memphis notched up a 119-112 win in a game that also saw Durant make history by becoming the eighth player in NBA history to reach 30,000 points.

Gilbert Arenas marks Ja Morant as the next face of the NBA

Earlier this month, former Washington Wizards star and three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas made a bold proclamation about Morant. He declared the Memphis Grizzlies star as the next face of the NBA on "The Gil's Arena Show".

"That star is Ja Morant. When you look across the league there is only one person they are going to look back at."

Arenas also referenced the jersey sales in Memphis to add to making his case. Per recent reports, the guard's jersey sales indicate he is already a bonafide superstar ranking seventh overall.

On the season front, it has been an injury-riddled run for Morant. However, he has been dishing out solid numbers averaging 20.7 points, 7.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds on 45/33/82 splits. The Grizzlies are second in the West with a 36-17 record as they head to the All-Star break.
