Ja Morant, Tyrese Maxey and other NBA stars in awe as Tank Davis knocks out Frank Martin
Ja Morant, Tyrese Maxey and several other NBA stars posted their reactions to Gervonta "Tank" Davis on Saturday. The WBA lightweight champion made a triumphant victory on his return to the ring after almost a year away from the action.
He proved that a break from the sport couldn't harm his winning spirit as he knocked out Frank Martin in the eighth round to retain the WBA championship. Several NBA stars, including Ja Morant, reacted to the win on their official social media accounts.
"(Goat emoji) Tank" Morant posted.
The Memphis Grizzlies star called the WBA champion the GOAT, with Tank Davis' record standing at 30-0, with all but two coming via knockout. Sixers star Tyrese Maxey's excitement was evident on X.
"Nah Tank NASTY!!!"
"Definitely worth staying up Until 6 am for!!! RESPECT!"
Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball also pitched in with his opinion on X:
"Naw tank a fooooool. gawh damnnnn," Ball posted.
Ball has been out of action for a long time due to an ankle injury and is expected to make a comeback next season.

The reactions to the title defense weren't only limited to basketball stars, and analyst Stephen A. Smith was also amazed by the fight. He offered his praises for Tank Davis on X:
"Winner by KO — Gervonta. the best show in Boxing. 30 wins. 28 KO’s, via a left uppercut, then a straight left! Stalked Martin from start to finish. Don’t know about everyone else, but I definitely have Tank as a Top-5 fighter on the planet. Probably Top-3. Definitely No.1 attraction. This can’t be denied any longer."
Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins was also excited about the fight on his official X account. Perkins posted a series of tweets:

Davis' fight took the basketball world by storm, and now eyes turn to Monday's Game 5 of the NBA Finals, where the Boston Celtics lead the Dallas Mavericks 3-1.
