Jaime Jaquez Jr. had a stacked schedule when he stayed in Las Vegas during the first weeks of July. He started it by playing in scrimmages against the USA Basketball Men's Olympic Team as part of the USA Select Team. He was joined by Duke University's Cooper Flagg, Boston Celtics' Payton Pritchard, Golden State Warriors' Brandin Podziemski, etc.

Following that experience, Jaquez Jr. played in two of the Miami Heat's summer league games. In his two outings, he put up 26.0 points, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

Amid all the basketball he took part in, Jaquez Jr. also managed to find the time to bond with his girlfriend. The track-and-field athlete shared snaps of their moment on Instagram.

"Viva La Vegas," Ruotolo wrote.

The promising Heat guard is viewed to be an important piece for the team moving forward. The Heat have a track record of selecting quality players in the draft, such as Tyler Herro (2019 draft), Bam Adebayo (2017 draft), Dwyane Wade (2003 draft), etc.

During his first year in the league, Jaquez Jr. put up 11.9 ppg (48.9% shooting, including 32.2% from 3-point range) and 3.8 rebounds per game.
