Jalen Brunson issues 5-word response after Josh Hart makes bold claim about Knicks PG
Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart have developed a close relationship over the last decade. The New York Knicks guards are known to poke fun at each other, but Hart's latest claim led to Brunson calling him out on social media.
Following the Knicks' win over the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena on Monday, it was reported by New York Post's Stefan Bondy that Hart talked about Brunson wanting to guard a specific Raptors player.
"Second half, Jalen Brunson kept saying, I want Dick. I’ll take Dick."
Raptors shooting guard Gradey Dick was the 13th overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft. Hart claimed that Brunson was keen on defending him in the second half, but his comments could be interpreted differently. After Brunson found out about it, he took to X with a five-word response.
"He’s lying on my name," Brunson tweeted.
Brunson was quick to clear up any confusion with his post, which has already received over 10,000 likes.
Hart and Brunson are close friends and played for Villanova where they won a NCAA national championship under Jay Wright in 2016.
In February, they launched their podcast titled "Roommates Show." It has a strong following and provides basketball fans with insights into the NBA world.
The New York Knicks won 113-108 against the Toronto Raptors. Brunson scored 20 points with 11 assists. Gradey Dick was held to seven points and six rebounds.
Jalen Brunson mocks Knicks teammate Josh Hart for hilarious picture pose
Since making the move to the Big Apple, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart have become fan favorites. Their hard work on the court, along with their playful nature off of it has made them two of the most popular athletes in New York.
In October, GQ magazine did a piece on the New York Knicks, and a big part of that was a photo shoot of the players. After Hart pulled off a hilarious pose, Brunson mocked him on X.
"This is why we can’t take him anywhere," Brunson wrote.
The two often roast each other on social media and their podcast, and that won't likely end any time soon. Whatever they are doing, it's working for the Knicks, who are coming off their best season in over a decade.
