Jalen Green's girlfriend Draya Michele shares rare snap of son Jru attending Rockets game
Jalen Green’s girlfriend Draya Michele’s son has been far from the limelight. But on Wednesday, Michele shared a glimpse of her life with her son Jru as they watched Green play for the Houston Rockets.
In an Instagram story, Michele posted a candid picture of her and her son Jru sitting courtside in a game between the Rockets and the Detroit Pistons in the Emirates NBA Cup, which the Green-led Houston lost 120-111.
The snap showed the two looking at what was happening on the floor while Jru was wearing noise-cancelling headphones. They were also wearing matching outfits, as both wore shades of brown and black.
Michele, 39, and Green, 22, have been in a relationship since 2023. Jru is Michele’s son with Dallas Cowboys’ Orlando Scandrick. The couple shares a daughter named Peace Moira, who was born in May this year.
Draya Michele has dated athletes and celebrities before, including R&B superstar Chris Brown and rapper Wiz Khalifa. She has also dated basketball stars Gilbert Arenas, and Deshawn Stevenson, landing her casting in the Basketball Wives of LA reality TV show.
Jalen Green shares his early experience in fatherhood
Jalen Green is regarded as one of the rising young stars in the NBA today. Despite being considered young in the league, Green says he has matured off the court, having become a father for the first time in May.
In a November interview with The Athletic, Green talked about being in the early stages of fatherhood and how it affects his maturity and mindset inside the court.
“I have a family now. I’m not a rookie anymore… Coming into the league, it was a little different, especially with the Rockets organization. We were losing and in a rebuild. Now, we’ve found ourselves and the goals we’re trying to achieve. With that comes more responsibility and maturity — how you carry yourself as an NBA player, a professional,” Green said.
Led by Green, center Alperen Sengun, former All-Star Fred Vanvleet and other budding stars, the Houston Rockets have been enjoying a resurgence this season, occupying the second seed in a stacked Western Conference with a 15-7 win-loss record.
The Rockets scored wins against top West teams such as the first-seed Oklahoma City Thunder, reigning West champions Dallas Mavericks, and the resurging Memphis Grizzlies.
Green leads the Rockets in scoring as he averages 19.3 points per game, alongside 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
In the offseason, Green signed a three-year extension worth $106 million to stay with the Rockets. After being a high school sensation, Green skipped college and instead went to the now-defunct NBA G-League Ignite program before going second overall in the 2021 NBA draft.
