Jalen Rose outlines flaws in Steph Curry-led Golden State Warriors losing to shorthanded Phoenix Suns: “You still lose on your home floor”

Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors are struggling to keep themselves in the Western Conference playoff picture.

In Curry's absence, the team looked poised for a big slip in the standings. The two-time MVP then shocked everyone by returning ahead of schedule this week when the Warriors took on the Phoenix Suns.

Unfortunately, for the Warriors Nation, the hype surrounding Steph Curry's return was pretty short-lived. The Dubs fell 125-113 to a seriously compromised Phoenix Suns team.

Throughout the early portion of the game, Steph Curry struggled and seemed unable to get things going as he went just 36.4% from the field on 22 attempts. Things aren't looking great for a team trying to make it to consecutive NBA Finals.

During Wednesday's installment of SportsCenter, Jalen Rose spoke about the situation, discussing the return of Steph Curry, and why the Warriors need more. The way he sees things, despite the Warriors' late-game push, the Suns were missing so many players that the Warriors needed to capitalize.

"Their defense was nonexistent, and let me just tell you guys who missed the games for the Phoenix Suns: No CP3, Booker, Ayton, Johnson, Cameron Payne, and you still lose on your home floor.
"That's really disappointing for the Golden State Warriors when you get not only Stephen back in the lineup, but you also get Wiggins back as well."

You can see Rose's comments towards the end of the video beginning at the three-minute mark after highlights from the game.

Will the return of Steph Curry be enough to help the Warriors?

Jalen Rose wasn't the only one expressing concern for the Warriors in the wake of the loss. On Wednesday morning's edition of Undisputed with Skip & Shannon, the NFL Hall of Famer spoke about the situation.

The way Sharpe sees things, the Warriors have lost some of that 'fear factor' they used to possess.

"We talked earlier that there's no mythological team in the west the teams are really evenly matched. On any given Sunday, any given night, you can get beat. But the feat factor that the warriors used to possess is no longer there now. Who knows if they can get it back."

After the game, Steph Curry spoke to reporters to discuss the situation, revealing that there was no clear explanation for his rustiness. Four weeks later, Curry pointed out that he managed to improve as the game went on. Knowing that he's confident he'll be able to ramp up his conditioning, he's got his sights set on getting the team back on track.

The team will square off against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday before then making the trip to Chicago to face the Bulls on Sunday. With five straight road games, they are going to have to find a way to win on the road if they have any hope of making a playoff push.

The Warriors currently sit in eighth place in the Western Conference. With just one win separating them from the Phoenix Suns in seventh place, the chance to bypass the NBA Play-in tournament isn't out of reach quite yet.
