James Harden reacts to his lower NBA 2K rating compared to Jimmy Butler and Trae Young

When NBA 2k25 was released, James Harden was an 84 overall. Thanks to his impressive play so far this season, as part of the latest NBA 2k25 ratings adjustment, Harden has been bumped up to an 86 overall. This puts the former MVP on par with players like Brandon Ingram, Julius Randle, Paul George and Tyler Herro, etc., with the same overall.

At the same time, it puts him behind players like Darius Garland (87 OVR), Jimmy Butler (88 OVR), and Trae Young (89 OVR). While Harden's overall rating could rise further throughout the season, the Clippers star didn't seem thrilled that he only had an 86 overall.

In a post on his Instagram story, Harden shared the update from NBA 2k25 which announced that the former MVP had been bumped up to an 86 overall. Along with the post, he included a laughing emoji, as seen below.

Looking at other players who had their NBA 2k25 overall ratings adjusted in addition to James Harden

In addition to James Harden, many players had their NBA 2k25 overall ratings adjusted as part of this week's update. While some players's overall ratings dropped to lower figures like Paul George and Anthony Edwards, players like Giannis Antetokounmpo saw their overall ratings increase.

The Greek Freak, for example, went from a 97 overall to a 98 overall thanks to his impressive play, which has led the Milwaukee Bucks to an 8-2 record over their last ten games. In addition, Victor Wembanyama has been bumped from a 91 overall to a 92 overall as of the latest update.

Meanwhile, Ja Morant and Damian Lillard rose to 91 overall ratings, with Morant's rating increasing by one and Lillard's by two. Other players, like former MVP Russell Westbrook, also had their ratings improved by NBA 2k, with the Denver guard going from 78 to 80 overall.

Another major player whose rating was affected was LA Lakers forward and four-time NBA champion LeBron James. The 6-foot-9 star, who is currently finding himself on a rough patch in form by averaging 22.3 points in 22 games, dipped from 96 overall to 95 overall.

Considering the current NBA 2k game updates these ratings, these overall ratings will likely continue shifting over the coming months.

Only time will tell whether Harden will surpass players like Trae Young and Jimmy Butler.
