James Harden showers Deebo Samuel with 2-word appreciation post historic NFL outing
LA Clippers star guard James Harden was present at Lumen Field to watch the San Francisco 49ers defeat the Seattle Seahawks at the start of Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season. The former NBA MVP watched Brock Purdy, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel and the rest of the team bounce back after a tough 24-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
After the game, Harden shared a video of his greeting Samuel, adding a two-word message to praise the veteran wide receiver for his terrific performance.
"bang bang! 😤 @1deebosr," the LA Clippers star captioned the post.
Deebo Samuel had a standout game against the Hawks, catching three passes for a stunning 102 receiving yards. He caught a pass from Purdy near midfield and then sprinted for a 76-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
The 49ers ended the first half up 16-3 thanks to Samuel's heroics and a solid performance by the defensive unit. San Francisco won the game 36-24 despite a late comeback attempt by their opponents and now are the co-leaders of the NFC West division alongside their Thursday opponent (3-3).
In addition to Samuel, Harden also greeted other 49ers players and took a picture with safety George Odum. Both the Clippers and the Niners are teams loaded with talent but have yet to capture a championship.
James Harden, LA Clippers will face a new NBA season after busy offseason
The LA Clippers saw Paul George join the Philadelphia 76ers and Russell Westbrook go to the Denver Nuggets after being unable to win it all with the Clippers. They signed Mo Bamba, Derrick Jones Jr., Nicolas Batum and Kevin Porter Jr. as free agents while re-signing Ivica Zubac, Terance Mann and James Harden.
They will have a new look this season but the same desire to win the championship, although their roster isn't as strong as in prior campaigns.
James Harden played 72 games last season, averaging 16.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 42.8% from the field and 38.1% from deep. He will have a bigger role with George's departure, becoming the second option of the team behind Kawhi Leonard. If Leonard misses time, Harden will then become the leader of the squad.
