Jaylen Brown's girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick drops wholesome reaction after brother Grant Gondrezick II erupts with 20 points
Kysre Gondrezick, the girlfriend of Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown, recently celebrated her younger brother, Grant Gondrezick II, for his outstanding performance on Sunday. Grant, a freshman for the Detroit Mercy Titans, played against the Wisconsin Badgers in the matchup.
Grant scored 20 points, shooting an impressive 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. His teammate, Orlando Lovejoy, also tallied 20 points, but the Mercy Titans fell to the Badgers 76-53. The Badgers were led by Nolan Winter’s balanced effort, which included an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double.
Despite the loss, Kysre expressed pride in her brother’s efforts, sharing an Instagram story that read:
“Light 20 piece! Super proud of you @grantgondrezick3.”
Grant’s 20-point game was just shy of his career-high 22-point performance, which came during a 98-89 overtime victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in late November. In that game, he shot an efficient 7-for-14, including 2-for-4 from 3-point range.
This season, Grant is averaging 7.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game for the 5-9 Detroit Mercy Titans.
A look at Kysre Gondrezick’s basketball journey
Kysre Gondrezick was the fourth pick in the 2021 WNBA draft, selected by the Indiana Fever. This made her the highest draft pick in West Virginia’s program history and the Fever’s first-ever No. 4 pick.
During her rookie season, she played 19 games, averaging 1.9 points and 1.0 rebounds in 9.1 minutes per game. She ranked fifth among rookies in 3-point field goals made and assists per game despite limited playing time.
Her college career was more remarkable. She played 92 games for West Virginia and Michigan, averaging 16.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.
At West Virginia, she earned All-Big 12 honors twice and concluded her career ranked fourth in points per game (17.1) for the Mountaineers.
During her senior year at West Virginia, she averaged 19.5 points, 4.5 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 37.3 minutes per game, starting all 28 contests.
Kysre began her collegiate journey at Michigan in the 2016-17 season, where she earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors before transferring to West Virginia.
After the death of her father, she stepped away from basketball for two years to focus on her mental health. The Fever waived her in January 2022.
In February 2024, Kysre Gondrezick signed with the Chicago Sky for training camp and officially joined their roster in May. She appeared in five games, averaging 1.0 points, 0.4 assists and 0.4 rebounds before being waived by the team in June, leaving her as a free agent.
