Jaylen Brown’s insane workout video sparks cheeky warning from Celtics Legend
Boston Celtics star and reigning NBA champion Jaylen Brown put the league on notice after revealing his underwater training routine this offseason. One former Celtics legend who was left in awe was Kevin Garnett, who jumped to social media to issue a stern warning for the rest of the competition.
Garnett marveled at Brown’s unique offseason workout, which featured an upper body routine in a swimming pool, adding more resistance and difficulty to his training session.
“Lord… @FCHWPO is under water with a dumbbell in one hand and a basketball in the other…. 🤣🤣🤣,” said Garnett on X, formerly Twitter.
“Shyt might be over for everybody ☘️🔥🤝🏾,” he added.
Brown made a post on Instagram where he showed his intense workout routine. The session happened in Bahrain, a small country in West Asia near the Persian Gulf.
Two separate pictures showed that the three-time NBA All-Star was using 40 and 60 pounds of dumbbells while also working out his left hand by dribbling a ball underwater.
Brown is coming off a successful season where he was named Eastern Conference Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP as he helped the Boston Celtics win their first NBA championship since 2008 when Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo, starred for the team.
Brown averaged 23.0 points, 3.6 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game on a career-high 50 percent field-goal shooting clip last season. He also shot 35 percent from the 3-point line en route to the most accomplished year of his NBA career.
Jaylen Brown reveals love for water training amidst body transformation
Jaylen Brown has made significant changes to his diet and routine in the past years, which has contributed to his recent success. In a sit-down interview with YouTuber KT The Arch Degree, Brown expressed fondness for pool training, citing it as one of the key factors that helped him turn into one of the best players in the NBA.
“[18:40] The more I’ve embedded myself in water, the more I’ve seen my body transform in the last couple of years… I’ve just gotten more athletic, I’ve gotten faster, I’ve gotten bigger and stronger and I credit it a lot to improving my relationships with the water,” Brown said.
He also shared how his diet changed his life, even beyond the basketball court.
“[28:50] When I was 24, I decided to go vegan and that instantly kind of shifted a lot of different things,” Brown said. “That year, I was an All-Star for the first time so I think that had a correlation. I was just moving differently.”
“My thoughts were clear. My life changed in a sense. Now, I mix vegan practices with my own dietary needs to do what I need to do but at the time when I was vegan nothing did I appreciate more than the clear thoughts, the clarity,” he added.
With almost the same roster heading to next season, the Celtics remain one of the favorites to win the NBA title next year. Brown is also expected to continue his rise to superstardom alongside longtime teammate Jayson Tatum.
