Jimmer Fredette is no stranger to playing 3x3 basketball as he already brought home a FIBA gold medal in 2022. Following Team USA's 22-14 loss against Serbia on Tuesday, the ball club came up short again in their second matchup, and this time it was against Poland. It was a neck-and-neck battle between the two teams on Wednesday, and Poland secured a 19-17 victory.

He had a more complete performance in USA Basketball's matchup against Serbia, where he was able to rack up rebounds and get to the free-throw line.

On Tuesday, Fredette shared his thoughts on the loss against Serbia.

“They just did a better job than us of executing their game plan,” Fredette said (h/t Yahoo Sports). “We got to that foul count really early. Once you get to that foul count early, they kept getting some easy baskets. Then they called a couple fouls where they were able to get to the free throw line and get the ball back.”

Team USA is now 0-2 in the competition.

In Fredette’s five minutes and 51 seconds of action on the court, he shot the rock at 38.0% efficiency with a player value of 4.1. He knocked down his first one-point jumper around the 8:18 mark of the ball game.

Just when Poland was about to pull away with the win, Jimmer Fredette’s strong drive to the cup brought the deficit down to just one point. He missed the 2-point shot at the 1:10 mark that would have given his team the lead in the contest.

USA Basketball still had a chance to make things interesting after Poland’s Michal Sokolowski knocked went one-of-two at the charity stripe to give his team a two-point advantage over their opponent. Fredette tried his luck again from 2-point range but it ended up being a missed field goal once again.

Team USA is scheduled to play Latvia and Lithuania tomorrow with a chance to redeem themselves after two subpar performances in the Olympic Men’s 3x3 Basketball competition.

Not many athletes get the opportunity or privilege to represent their country in the Olympics. With how much basketball talent there is in each country, some players just luck out in making the final roster cut.

That isn't the case for Jimmer Fredette, who shared with Yahoo Sports' Jeff Eisenberg about being called to play for Team USA.

"As soon as I heard Olympics,' I was like, 'I'm all in,'" Fredette said. "I saw this as an opportunity of a lifetime."
