Jimmy Butler gives an honest review of his health this season
Jimmy Butler gave an honest review of his health this season. The Miami Heat star has missed 14 games already this season due to various ailments. His right knee injury has remained a constant problem. Butler said he doesn't feel 100% healthy this season, but his injury problems have continued to trend in the right direction.
Here's what he said about this (via Real GM):
“We just got to maintain this thing and take care of it. I mean, it’s part of the game, but I want to be right, I want to be a hundred, so I can go out there and do what I’m supposed to do.”
Butler was positive when asked if his knee was trending in the right direction, but added a bit of caution.
“It is,” Butler said. “Because I can go out there and compete. I can’t say that I’m fully healthy. But there are a lot of people that are not. So, I think that’s good on a lot of levels.
“The more rest that I have and able to get that recovery that I need is always going to be better. So, hell, whenever I’m not playing, I’m doing something to try to get it right.”
Jimmy Butler has missed a few games due to injury management as well. The Heat must have him at full strength late in the season and in the playoffs. He has been their best performer when the stakes are high, so they should play it safe with him during the regular season.

Jimmy Butler meets with Los Angeles doctor regarding knee injury
The Miami Heat were in LA for their game against the Clippers on Monday (Jan. 2). Jimmy Butler took the opportunity to meet one of the doctors from the town, who gave him a positive report on his knee injury problems. However, Butler's knee needs to be managed to get him back to 100%.
The same knee troubled the All-Star forward during last year's playoff series against the Boston Celtics. Butler played through the pain and still put up solid numbers. However, the stakes were too high for him to take that risk, which isn't the case now.
The Heat have struggled this season and are 21-18. However, players like Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry and Victor Oladipo are stepping up in the absence of Butler. The Heat need to use this as an opportunity to give Jimmy Butler as much rest as possible. That will be crucial for his recovery.
