Jonathan Isaac makes impassioned plea to Christians amid racial turmoil in leadup to 2024 US Presidential race

Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac sent an impassioned statement to Christians amid racial turmoil heading into the 2024 United States presidential race this November. Isaac was born and raised as a Christian. He's a known member of the Republican Party.

The 26-year-old star might not have the same pull as Steph Curry, who endorsed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris last July. However, he respectfully expresses his views on social media.

In his latest post on X, Isaac urged his fellow Christians to uphold the presidential candidates to their values and vote for the one that "protects biblical truth."

"Every Christian should understand that Satan is not coming after a race, a side of the isle, or whatever they want us to think these elections are about. Satan is coming for the church. To set up systems of government (Laws) that oppose God's word which is the standard we strive to uphold by the grace of God.
"We must be spiritually minded enough to take our eyes off of people, certain issues, candidates and see the spirit behind what's at work. We must stand on the word, push candidates to uphold biblical standards and vote in a way that most protects biblical truth. If you're not Christian not for you," Isaac tweeted.

Jonathan Isaac has never been afraid to put his Christian faith in the spotlight since making the NBA. Isaac made headlines when he didn't kneel during the league's Black Lives Matter protest inside the bubble during the pandemic. He's also one of the players who didn't get the COVID-19 vaccine.

In April, Donald Trump asked his supporters if they wanted to vote for a black president or a white president. Those remarks triggered a lot of criticism since it was a dividing comment, although it wasn't shared without full context.

Here's what Jonathan Isaac said to defend Trump while also going against Kamala Harris.

"Of course, the caption leaves out the one part that makes his comment NOT racist. Most Americans want whoever is going take less money from them and put more in their pockets, keep their children and communities safe, keep the country safe, promote and protect Christian values without discrimination of others, mobilize the economy for lower prices and bigger business, etc.
"That's what we want whether you are black or white!! Trump is no saint and neither any of us. ... IMO based on policy and held ideologies of both sides it’s hard to want those things as a Christian and American and vote Kamala. Respect to everyone who disagrees!" Isaac wrote.

The 2024 United States presidential election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The latest poll by The Economist has Kamala Harris maintaining a small lead over Donald Trump.
