Jordan Poole’s former college teammate Adrien Nunez makes song on ex-girlfriend for allegedly cheating on him with teammate
During his college basketball career, Adrien Nuñez is best known for playing in Michigan alongside 2022 NBA Champion Jordan Poole. Nuñez played with the Wolverines until his senior year and originally declared for the 2023 NBA draft but went undrafted.
Since then, he has been building anticipation for the release of his first song about his ex-girlfriend who allegedly cheated on him with a teammate.
Nuñez posted numerous videos on TikTok as he is set to release the song on Friday night. He already has a strong following on the platform with over 6.4 million followers and 432.6 million likes. Based on the previews he shared, he drew inspiration from the country music. The song is titled "Low Road."
In anticipation of the song's release on listening platforms, Nuñez posted about his journey to reach this point in his life.
"Low Road is out TONIGHT!" Nuñez wrote. "Before ever picking up a basketball, being an artist was something I always wanted to pursue. 10 years later life has come full circle and brought me back to where it all started. I appreciate all the love you guys are showing me and my first song, I really cannot thank you guys enough."
Aside from his passion for basketball, being an artist has been close to his chest since he was young. With a strong presence on TikTok, it has made the anticipation of his first official song all the more exciting on his end.
The songwriting journey of Nuñez has also allowed him to express his emotions outside of basketball and has gladly considered the whole process a "full circle" moment for him.

Before he released numerous snippets of his "Low Road" song, Nuñez talked about how his TikTok fanbase grew into what it is today, as per Yahoo! Finance's Josh Schafer. Before he made noise on the popular social media platform, he originally started on Instagram.
"It kind of just morphed into what it is today," Nuñez said. "I wouldn't say there was a moment where I was like, 'Wow I'm really blowing up, and I'm going to be able to make a lot of money off of this."
Aside from his regular followers, he has also done content for companies such as Spotify and SoFi. The success Adrien Nuñez is now enjoying is a result of careful planning for his TikTok content.
During his four seasons with the Michigan Wolverines, he played 4.4 minutes per game and averaged 1.0 points (27.2% shooting, including 20.3% from three-point range).
