"Jordan didn't do s**t for people" - Ryan Garcia mocks Michael Jordan's legacy, favors Muhammad Ali as greatest athlete ever

Famed boxer Ryan Garcia shared his thoughts on the greatest athlete of all time debate, and he chose boxing great Muhammad Ali over basketball legend Michael Jordan. Not only that, but he also took a shot at Jordan's off-court contributions.

Many athletes have looked up to Jordan and he has served as an inspiration to many. However, Garcia is not one of them. Garcia appeared on Shopping for Sneakers by Kick Game, and when asked which athlete he considers the greatest of all time, he didn't hesitate with his answer:

"Muhammad Ali," Garcia said.

When the host, Craig Mitch, pointed at a pair of Air Jordans, alluding to Jordan as the GOAT, Garcia said this:

"No, [Michael] Jordan didn't do s**t for the people. Jordan made some shoes. I don't give a f**k about no six rings, I give a f**k about what you did outside the court... What did you do outside the court bro? I like Kobe [Bryant] better than him.

But despite picking Ali over Jordan, Garcia did have something positive to say about MJ:

"My dad's from Chicago, my dad loves Jordan. I met Jordan, he's cool."

Each athlete has different opinions on who is the greatest of all time. While Garcia doesn't think that Jordan is the best, he still respects what he did for the game of basketball.

NFL reporter recalls how Ali shifted the focus away from Michael Jordan

Longtime NFL reporter Laura Okmin had the chance to cover Michael Jordan a few times. Back when she was a young journalist, she had interactions as a reporter with the Bulls legend.

However, during one instance, she shared that the boxing legend made the attention shift away from Jordan.

"I used to play a game whenever I was at whatever arena and I would always be looking away from the court but I would always know when Michael walked in because it's hard to explain this and you know you've helped us I'm sure before you could feel an arena tilt or stadium tilt when someone like that walks in because the whole place just tilts to them.
"One day I was at practice at the United Center, and I'm watching Michael warm up, and all of a sudden I feel it tilt the other way. And I'm like, what's happening? He's right there. I've never felt it for anyone. And I turned, and I looked, and they were wheeling Muhammad Ali in," Okmin said.

Both Ali and Jordan have done incredible jobs in their respective sports. In terms of boxing, the athlete formerly known as Cassius Clay won the WBA heavyweight championship four times and the WBC heavyweight title twice, among many other accolades.

Jordan was also a decorated star in the NBA as he won the championship six times, the Finals MVP six times, and the regular season MVP five times.
