"Just do it" - Jimmy Butler drops 'Wednesday Wisdom' in Cameron Brink's LA Sparks jersey
Jimmy Butler had some "Wednesday Wisdom" to offer, and he shared it with his fans on social media while sporting Cameron Brink's LA Sparks jersey. The Miami Heat forward hit an early offseason after the Boston Celtics handed them a first-round playoff exit.
Now, Butler has been making headlines over the summer following the ongoing WNBA action and getting his body back to optimal fitness. Earlier, he took to social media to share a message, and he did that again wearing Brink's purple jersey.
It was pretty much Nike's brand message that Butler had but, with his own twist:
"I'm choosing to do my words of wisdom every Wednesday, don't ask me why. But my first one is, if you say you gonna do something, just do it. Yeah."
Butler had earlier shown support for Brink as he showed up in LA to cheer her on. The versatile forward had shown up wearing the same jersey.
On Tuesday, in the Sparks' game against the Connecticut Sun, Brink suffered an ACL tear in her left leg, likely ending her season and chances of representing the USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Jimmy Butler's trade conversations did the rounds early on, linking the six-time NBA All-Star to the Philadelphia 76ers — a team he spent a season with before moving to the Heat.
Earlier, the Philadelphia Inquirer's Keith Pompey said that the Golden State Warriors were one of the interested parties in Butler's services Miami put him on the trade market. The LA Lakers were also one of the teams linked after he showed up in Brink's LA jersey.
However, league insider Shams Charania shed light on Butler's future on "The Pat McAfee Show", saying that the veteran would prefer to remain in Miami and that the front office will be keeping him. But with the extension talks still on where he is reportedly looking for a two-year max deal, there's every reason to believe that the Heat will weigh in on whether the decision on their star player.
Butler is under contract with Miami through 2025 and then has a $52.4 million player option for the 2025-26 season. There have been concerns regarding his age and production, as turns 35 at the start of the regular season and has suited in fewer than 65 games in each year since his 2018-19 run.
Only time will tell if Jimmy Butler will continue to be the face of the Miami Heat next season.
