"Just me posting up the greatest shooter": Muggsy Bogues gives Steph Curry his flowers with heartfelt throwback picture
Following his golden shooting performance in the finals of the just-concluded 2024 Paris Olympic Games, NBA superstar Steph Curry has further solidified his standing as one of the best shooters of all time in the game. And hoops legends are taking heed, including former Charlotte Hornets and Toronto guard Muggsy Bogues.
Bogues, a teammate of Curry's father, Dell, during their time with the Hornets and Raptors, took to X, formerly Twitter, to pay homage to 'Chef' for what he accomplished at the Olympics.
The 5-foot-3 former Wake Forest star posted a throwback photo of him and Steph Curry having a light moment on the court during one of the Raptors' practices. He captioned his post with:
"Nothin to see here just me posting up the greatest shooter to ever walk this earth #heartoverheight #USA"
Steph Curry started his first Olympics stint rather subdued but considerably picked things up in the knockout stages, including the finals against host France, where he was stellar with his shooting.
In the gold medal game against the French national team, the Golden State Warriors superstar scored a team-high 24 points, built on 8-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc, including four inside the last three minutes that helped put the game away for the U.S. for the 98-87 victory.
For the tournament, Steph Curry led Team USA with 14.8 points per contest, on 57.1% shooting and 47.8% from deep, to go along with 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 23 minutes of play.
He also earned a spot in the All-Star Five of the tournament, joining teammate LeBron James (MVP), Nikola Jokic (Serbia), Victor Wembanyama (France) and Dennis Schroder (Germany).
Steph Curry may be one and done for Team USA in the Olympics
As impressive as Steph Curry was in his Olympics debut in Paris, it could well have his first and last donning the United States colors in the Summer Games as he does not see himself being there in Los Angeles in 2028 for the next edition.
Now 36 years old, 'Chef Curry' admitted that he could be one and done for Team USA, telling media after their gold medal-winning win over France at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games:
"This might not come around again."
If it was the last the fans would see Steph Curry in a U.S.A. uniform, he made sure to leave a lasting impression. He top-scored for the U.S. in the tournament with 14.8 points per contest while providing a masterclass in shot-making.
At the Paris Games, he won gold playing alongside LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, Anthony Edwards, Jrue Holiday, Bam Adebayo, Tyrese Haliburton and Derrick White.
Curry also has two gold medals to show for in the FIBA World Cup, which he won in 2010 in Turkey and 2014 in Spain.
