"KD over MJ is Crazy": Fans react after Jaylen Brown leaves Michael Jordan out of his all-time starting 5

Jaylen Brown has been in the spotlight since the Boston Celtics’ championship run. The All-Star guard won the NBA Finals MVP to cap off his incredible year. Some even suggested that he has become the Celtics’ best player over Jayson Tatum.

Brown is unquestionably one of the best players in the league. He could be even better next season after getting over the hump in the championship round. As good as he has become, there are players he considers to be levels above everyone.

After failing to make it to Team USA as Kawhi Leonard’s replacement, Jaylen Brown is in Spain to continue training. He is in “The Sanctuary,” the NBPA’s summer retreat where players can work on their game in summer.

While getting ready to work out, Brown was asked to name his all-time starting five. He had LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and Shaquille O’Neal as his choice. “JB” later changed his mind and decided to go with Bill Russell who can go up and down the court better than Shaq.

Fans reacted to Brown’s all-time starting unit:

“Kevin Durant over Michael is Crazy”

One fan disagreed with Brown’s last-minute change:

“Bill Russell over Shaq and Hakeem and Kareem is actually crazy”

Another fan couldn’t agree more with the Boston Celtics star:

“People are finally waking up to that glorified DeMar DeRozan who wore 23 for the Bulls.”

Somebody explained why Brown had to insert Russell in there:

“He had to chuck a Celtic player in there to make sure he good”

Leaving off Michael Jordan on any NBA all-time starting five seems unimaginable to most. Jaylen Brown couldn’t care less about what others think. This is his best lineup regardless of era and he is standing by it.

Jaylen Brown continues to have a chip on his shoulder

Some of the players working out in “The Sanctuary” in Spain include Deuce McBride, Immanuel Quickley, Nick Richards, Boban Marjanovic, Grant Williams and Josh Okogie. None of them are as accomplished as Jaylen Brown, the reigning NBA Finals MVP.

Summer is at its peak but the three-time All-Star isn’t resting on his laurels. Despite the honor and recognition of his work, he still feels he is not given his due. The inability to get into Team USA, an issue that he put squarely on Nike’s shoulders, will only motivate him.

The Boston Celtics have Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White competing in the quadrennial games in Paris. Jaylen Brown is raring to prove he belongs in that group when the season opens. The chip on his shoulder remains as big as ever.
