"Keep your foot on the pedal" - Carmelo Anthony's trainer hypes Kiyan Anthony's training gains in Instagram post
Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan Anthony, is trying to emulate his father by making it to the NBA. The 17-year-old shooting guard keeps working on his game, supported by a group of professionals who can maximize his talent and put him in a good position to become a pro.
Chris Brickley, his father's trainer, shared a post hyping up Kiyan earlier today, sending a strong message to the teenager, pointing out that once he leaves his comfort zone, evolution happens.
"Sharpening your skills never stops & improvement happens when you push beyond your comfort zone. @kiyananthony continues to improve. The future is ALL YOURS bro 🏁 Just keep your foot on the pedal 💯," Brickley captioned the post.
It's not strange to see sons of former NBA players becoming pros. Some have found more success than others, but these cases keep happening in the association. After Bronny James was drafted by the LA Lakers in the 2024 NBA Draft, the expectations are high.
Kiyan Anthony has drawn attention since he was younger. While Bronny James isn't expected to become a star in the league by many people, others consider that Kiyan has a bright future in the association.
Analyst says Kiyan Anthony can have success in the NBA
Arden Franklyn has a strong opinion about Kiyan Anthony, stating that the young guard is a legitimate player regardless of his upbringing and his father's name.
"I think for Kiyan, being the type of player that he's been, he hasn't run away from those games, he's played in a lot of those games. I think that has been very instrumental to his development and Carmelo and La La, they've embraced that, " Franklyn said on August 11 episode of 'NY Got Game.'
"He shows out and it only legitimizes him in a way. He's not protected in terms of like he can't play, no he can play. He chooses to. He competes and he's a real New York hooper. Even if he wasn't Carmelo's son or if his last name wasn't Anthony, I still think he would get the reputation that he has because he's a legitimate player, the way he scores his attitude is different," he added.
Anthony has said that he's interested in joining Syracuse in college and following in his father's footsteps. There's still time for him to make that decision, but Kiyan won't miss suitors for his services when the moment arrives.
