Julius Randle's wife, Kendra Randle, shared a sweet photo on her Instagram story, showing a funny moment with their son, Kyden, who had a humorous reaction to the couple’s embrace.
At the Timberwolves' Oct. 26 game against the Toronto Raptors, which ended in a 112-101 home win for Minnesota, Kendra and Julius shared a kiss courtside.
In her Instagram story, Kendra shared the moment, noting how Kyden seemingly turned away from their kiss, choosing to focus on his popcorn instead. See her story below.
In the game, Julius Randle contributed 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
Julius and Kendra have been married since 2017. They met when they were students at Kentucky, where Julius played college ball and Kendra was studying fashion design.
They share two children: Kyden Jay, born in 2016, and Jaycey, born in 2021.
Kendra Randle opens up about leaving New York for Minnesota
Julius Randle joined the Timberwolves as part of the trade that brought Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks.
In an October TikTok video, his wife, Kendra Randle, shared her experience of dealing with the trade. With his previous moves having come as a feee agent, this marked the first time in Julius's 11-year career that he had been traded.
Though the trade came as a surprise, Kendra Randle expressed gratitude that it happened during the offseason, rather than in the middle of the season.
“I’m really grateful that it’s actually not in the middle of the season, like before the deadline or whatever, but it has been pretty crazy for our first time and unexpected,” she said.
“And I’m not gonna lie, when we heard Minnesota it was pretty shocking, although we were ready to leave New York.”
She said that even before the trade, the family was considering relocating out of the city for a better environment for their children.
“It was a great experience, but we were already looking to move outside the city. It was just getting so hard and overwhelming for us because my husband is from Texas and I’m from Kentucky and that’s just not how we grew up."
Julius Randle enjoying a good start to his Minnesota career
Early in his Minnesota career, Julius Randle is already playing a pivotal role.
He averaged 21.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists over the Timberwolves’ first seven games, and his scoring ranks second on the team behind Anthony Edwards, while his rebounding places him third behind Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid.
He’s shooting an impressive 57.4% from the field — third-best on the team — and 46.4% from the 3-point line.
The Timberwolves opened the season with a 4-3 record, seventh best in the Western Conference.
