Kentavious Caldwell-Pope set for Magic debut

After a full offseason with his new team, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will make his regular season debut with the Magic in their season opener versus the Miami Heat. He spent the last two seasons in Denver, where he played a crucial role in their 2022-23 NBA championship.

He has been a key piece in two title runs, winning his first with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2019-20, making him an enticing signing for a youthful Magic team.

Orlando added a strong veteran presence to help their youthful core of Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Jalen Suggs. The Magic believe they have a championship-caliber roster after taking the Cleveland Cavaliers to seven games in the first round of the playoffs and are looking to contend for a title.

In his 12-year career, Caldwell-Pope has averaged 11.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists, shooting 42.7% and 37% from three-point range.
