Kevin Durant discusses Super Bowl & ‘new age Tom Brady’: “I got Joe Burrow, best quarterback in the league”
When Kevin Durant is on the basketball court, he's one of the top superstars in the entire NBA. Away from the court, Durant still stays close to what's happening in the world of professional sports.
Over the years, Durant has voiced his opinion on numerous occasions when it comes to his fandom of the NFL. The league's conference championship games are set to take place on Sunday. Both matchups have sports fans eager to see which team will be going on to the Super Bowl.
As it stands right now, the Philadelphia Eagles are set to take on the San Francisco 49ers. The game will feature two intriguing quarterbacks in Brock Purdy of the 49ers and Jalen Hurts of the Eagles, as well as two outstanding defenses.
Another matchup will face two of the top quarterbacks in the game with the Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals facing Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
On a recent epsiode of "The ETCs," Kevin Durant took a moment to give his prediction for the pair of games, taking the Bengals and the 49ers.
"I got Joe Burrow. Best quarterback in the league. I'm going Burrow and Purdy," Durant said.
Kevin Durant nearing return to Brooklyn Nets
It's always interesting to see what some of the top superstars in sports think about prestigious events in other leagues. While the NFL playoffs will be taking place this weekend, the return of Kevin Durant to the NBA court is nearing as well.
The Brooklyn Nets announced Tuesday that Durant is set to return to on-court basketball activities this week. It's also been said that Durant is hoping to return to the court before the NBA's All-Star break. The superstar forward has been sidelined with an MCL sprain.
When Durant returns, the Brooklyn Nets will look to regain their previous level of play before his injury. The Nets came out of the gate slow to start the season before hitting their stride.
Durant has been sensational throughout the year, averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game while shooting 55.9% in 39 games.
