Kevin Durant drops 2-word reaction as Nets fan page gloats about 'all-time haul' from blockbuster trade
Kevin Durant has starred in several changes of teams ever since he decided to leave the OKC Thunder and join the Golden State Warriors. The two-time NBA champion drew a lot of attention whenever she switched teams and his trade from the Brooklyn Nets to the Phoenix Suns wasn't the exception.
A Nets fan account recalled all the first-round picks the team received in the Durant trade to Phoenix on Tuesday. In total, they received 12 first-round picks and two first-round swaps, labeling it as an "all-time haul."
This tweet caught the attention of plenty of people around the league, including Durant, who replied to the post with a two-word message.
"U welcome," Durant tweeted on Wednesday.
After three and a half seasons with the Nets (sat one out due to injury) and a failed Big Three with Kyrie Irving and James Harden, Kevin Durant decided it was time for him to find a new challenge in the league. Outside of a Game 7 second-round elimination in the 2021 NBA playoffs against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Nets were never competitive enough to challenge for the championship.
Kevin Durant was shipped to Footprint Center ahead of the 2023 NBA trade deadline, forming a remarkable duo with Devin Booker. KD and Booker would welcome Bradley Beal in the summer of 2023 from the Washington Wizards, forming another super team in Phoenix.
He's in his second full season with the Suns, hoping to win his elusive third NBA title.
Kevin Durant has struggled to remain healthy during 2024-25 NBA season
After the disappointing ending to the 2023-24 NBA season with a sweep in the first round of the postseason, Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns returned to action ready to make a statement and prove doubters wrong.
They were off to a remarkable start to the season, posting an 8-1 record with their Big Three on the court. Once Durant and Beal went down with injuries, the Suns lost six of their next seven games.
He returned to the court on Nov. 26 after two weeks inactive, taking his team to a big win over the LA Lakers. After losing to the Nets, Durant and Co. bounced back with wins against he Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs, but the 2014 NBA MVP picked up a new injury during the Spurs game.
Phoenix will take on the Utah Jazz on Friday when we'll know if he's able to return to the court.
