Kevin Durant gives 1-word comeback to heckler’s damning “legacy” take

Aside from continuing his historic career, Kevin Durant is known for engaging with fans on social media. In his latest exchange, he had a brief response to someone spouting a bold take regarding his legacy.

Before landing on the Phoenix Suns, Durant had a tenure with the Brooklyn Nets that left many wanting more. Some fans appear to still be holding a grudge, as they jabbed at him for getting swept in the playoffs last year. One person took things a step further, saying that KD is going to have the worst legacy of any superstar in any sport.

This comment got a response from Kevin Durant, who called out the fan for being over-the-top with his comment.

"Dramatic," Durant wrote.

Even with some stints of his career falling short of expectations, Durant's legacy is far from jeopardy. He is an MVP, Finals MVP, two-time champion and arguably one of the best offensive talents the league has ever seen.

As he enters his late 30s, Durant is still proving that he is a high-level talent in the NBA. This season, the Suns star is averaging 25.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists.

Seeing that his career is still ongoing, Durant's legacy can't be debated as his story isn't finished being written.

Kevin Durant gives his take on people commenting on his legacy

As fans continued to try and rain down on Kevin Durant, he kept engaging. Some of it was trolling, but he did sneak in an honest response to people debating his legacy.

After his "dramatic" comment, KD was asked if he cared about people talking about him and his career. The Phoenix Suns forward doesn't put much stock in it because he feels people speak with emotion and not facts.

"I tend to think people’s assessment of my journey comes from an emotional place more than a truthful place."

Because of some of his decisions over the years, Kevin Durant has built up his fair share of critics among NBA fans and analysts. Back in 2016, he was arguably the league's biggest villain. Durant received endless backlash that summer after leaving the OKC Thunder to join the Golden State Warriors.

Based on his recent social media exchanges, Brooklyn Nets fans seem to still be holding a grudge too. When he signed there in 2019, many expected him and Kyrie Irving to contend for championships. Excitement grew even more when the Nets traded for James Harden. However, things went completely off the rails and Durant ended up requesting a trade.

Because of all the bouncing around he's done, Durant's legacy has gotten murky among fans. However, his production and accolades on the court are up there with the all-time greats.
