Kevin Durant lauds Jayden Daniels in 2 words after Commanders QB's insane play secures win against Chicago Bears
After several years of watching the Washington Commanders be one of the worst teams in the NFL, Kevin Durant has reasons to be excited about this team. Starting with Jayden Daniels, Durant knows things are different now.
The buildup to the Week 8 matchup against the Chicago Bears wasn't easy, as Daniels' rib issues threatened to keep him sidelined for this game. Even so, the rookie quarterback led the Commanders to the promised land with a Hail Mary on Sunday.
Everybody was hyped up after that play, including Durant, who described Daniels with two words.
"a bucket @JayD__5," the Phoenix Suns superstar tweeted on Sunday.
Kevin Durant has been a fan of the Commanders since he was young.
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft threw 38 pass attempts and completed 21 for 326 yards and one touchdown. He gave the Commanders the win with no time left on the clock, connecting with Noah Brown for a 52-yard touchdown.
The Commanders improved to 6-2 and Daniels confirmed that last week's injury scare wasn't serious and he's set to keep dominating. Washington will face the New York Giants next week to try to beat them for the second time this season.
Kevin Durant hopes to emulate Jayden Daniels' impact on the Commanders for Suns
While Jayden Daniels gave new hope to the Washington Commanders, Kevin Durant is trying to build a competitive team with the Phoenix Suns. The two-time NBA MVP is one of the best scorers of all time, but ever since he left the Golden State Warriors in 2019, he's been unable to lift another Larry O'Brien trophy.
The Suns have a Big Three with Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, but their first season together was tumultuous and the lack of a true point guard hurt their chances to compete with the rest of the Western Conference contenders.
KD is set to make an impact this season and take this team to the promised land. Both the Suns and Commanders have intriguing prospects, and only time will tell if they reach their aim.
