Kevin Durant picks former Giants coach over Mike Tyson & Kobe Bryant as most scariest athletes of all-time
It would be fair to think that someone like Kevin Durant doesn't scare easily. After all, the Phoenix Suns forward is listed at 6-foot-11 and weighs 240 lbs. Aside from his size, he has also proven his fearlessness by going at tough and occasionally taller defenders.
However, it seems there are a few athletes that even Durant thinks are scary. The former league MVP went on "Up and Adams" on Oct. 31. During his guest appearance, Kay Adams asked him to share his list of the top five scariest athletes.
After naming four players from different sports, Durant stunned Adams by naming a head coach who won two Super Bowls.
"The last one, I'm gonna go with a coach," Durant said. "I'm gonna go Bill (Parcels)."
Adams expressed her surprise at Durant's decision. She admitted thinking that he was going to go with Ray Lewis, Kobe Bryant or Mike Tyson. KD explained that he got to know these athletes as they got older and they were quite friendly.
His explanation for why he went with Parcells as his number-one guy was never shared, though.
Bill Parcells was the head coach of the New York Giants from 1983-1990. During his tenure, the Giants won two Super Bowls (1986 and 1990). He also had stints coaching the New England Patriots (1993-96), the New York Jets (1997-99) and the Dallas Cowboys (2003-06). In his 19 years as a professional football coach, he tallied a record of 172 wins and 130 losses.

Who else made Kevin Durant's list of scariest athletes of all time?
Before Kevin Durant named Bill Parcells, he gave the names of four other athletes. Surprisingly, only one of the names on the list belonged to someone he played with.
The first player that Durant named was one of the NFL's legendary defenders, Lawrence Taylor. Taylor's entire career was spent with the New York Giants (1981-1993), where he was also coached by Parcells. He earned three Defensive Player of the Year awards (1981,1982 and 1986). His first Defensive Player award came in his rookie season, where he was also named the Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Next on Durant's list is one of the NBA's most well-known enforcers, Charles Oakley. Oakley is best known for his ten-year stint with the New York Knicks. However, before coming to New York, he played for the Chicago Bulls. He also played for the Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards and Houston Rockets.
After picking one athlete from the NFL and the NBA, Durant turned his attention to baseball. Durant named 14-time All-Star and seven-time NFL MVP Barry Bonds.
The second-to-last player on Kevin Durant's list was someone he played with on the Brooklyn Nets, James Johnson. Durant cited Johnson's experience with combat sports and his black belt as the reason why.
